KPRS Construction is pleased to have been recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal for the completion of the Huy Fong Foods Corporate Headquarters and Operations Center project. The project designed by RKZ, Inc. architects and developed by Seventh Street Development received the LABJ’s “Best Industrial Project Award” for 2012. The 630,000 square foot project is the home to Mr. David Tran’s Huy Fong Foods famous Sriracha Sauce recognizable by its red bottle with green cap and rooster logo.
Huy Fong Foods will move their headquarters from Rosemead to the newly constructed facility in Irwindale. The new concrete tilt-up processing facility and corporate offices also provides storage of the Sriracha chiles that must season in large drums for a year before they are ready to process. The company’s operation has expanded into growing its own chilies to ensure a steady supply. Founder David Tran, of Chinese descent, escaped Vietnam on a boat named “Huy Fong,” prompting the name of his American company. Since its humble beginnings in Los Angeles in 1980, Huy Fong Foods has grown into a major hot sauce manufacturer with sales across the globe.
